Sopra Steria recognised for the 7th year for climate performance and named ESG leader in banking

| minute read

Climate action and environmental sustainability are key objectives within our business so we’re proud to have been recognised for our actions and contributions by both CDP and NelsonHall.

This NelsonHall Vendor Evaluation & Assessment Tool (NEAT) analyses the performance of ten vendors offering Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) services in the banking sector and we’re delighted to have been named ESG leader in this area.

For the seventh year in a row, we have been recognised as a global leader in corporate climate action by inclusion in the CDP Climate ‘A’ List. Inclusion in the CDP list highlights us for making climate action ‘business as usual’ in its operations, supply chain and services to our clients.

The CDP holds the largest environmental database in the world and its scores are widely used to drive investment and procurement decisions towards a zero-carbon, sustainable and resilient economy. Out of 23,000 companies who disclosed data on environmental impacts, risks and opportunities through CDP’s platform less than 2% made the ‘A’ List, so we’re really proud to have been recognised for our efforts.

Andy Hepworth, Social Value Programme Director at Sopra Steria UK says “We’ve developed a strong programme that brings together all aspects of the work we do to make the world a better place, for people and for the planet. This recognition shows we’re moving in the right direction and we’re proud of our teams for this. There is, of course much still to be done, and we’re committed to continue moving forward and driving excellence in every way we can.”

We will continue to implement changes to help shape our world for a more sustainable and environmentally responsible future, including working with our suppliers and supply chain. For many organisations around 60-90% of their carbon footprint comes from their supply chain so we must work collaboratively to make the biggest impact.
