We're delighted to announce that Sue-Ellen Wright, Managing Director of Aerospace, Defence and Security at Sopra Steria, has been elected by industry peers and fellow members to join techUK's Defence & Security Board.

TechUK’s Defence & Security Board brings together high-level representatives from strategically important companies active in the UK's defence and security markets and policy areas. Sue-Ellen will be joining other senior industry leaders to champion the industry's interests and drive an ambitious programme of activity between techUK and its stakeholders, with a primary focus on addressing the strategic concerns that impact the Defence and National Security technology sectors.

With a career spanning more than thirty years, Sue-Ellen has worked alongside international clients to deliver IT & BPO services to deliver transformation programmes across several sectors, ranging from defence and public services, transport and retail, to consumer-related businesses and healthcare.

As Managing Director of Aerospace Defence and Security at Sopra Steria, Sue-Ellen is helping to transform some of the UK’s most complex systems and processes in secure environments, optimising internal business functions to support the delivery of frontline operations.

“My ambition is to encourage collaboration, build alliances and deliver ecosystems that create innovation across the Defence and National Security sector. The one thing I am sure about is that real opportunity exists to move the agenda forward, be that in modernising legacy systems to deliver faster, better and friendlier solutions or building new capabilities in Cyber, Space and Data Science. The sector also needs to nurture and grow our existing talent, whilst presenting itself as a great and exciting place to work for new talent and I want to help promote all the great work we do.  I am also looking forward to working with industry peers to help the UK’s Defence and Security technology sector address the opportunities and challenges it faces in a time of significant macro-economic change and uncertainty.” Sue-Ellen Wright

Sue-Ellen also plays a number of additional key roles across the Sopra Steria organisation, including being an executive sponsor for Wellbeing, supporting our Diversity and Inclusion programme with an active role in our Women’s Inclusive Network whilst also championing the initiatives that support our Armed Forces Community Network. We’re looking forward to supporting Sue-Ellen in her new role on the techUK board, and strengthening our relationships with the wider techUK community.
