Services and Business Capabilities

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) looks to Sopra Steria to deliver reliable digital services in inventory management and integration capability which provide effective decision making from access to relevant and trustworthy data.  MoD has challenges to sustain, modernise and transform its logistics and support services. We leverage our company-wide digital capabilities in Engineering Through-Life Solutions, Supply Chain Management and other digital enabling technologies including Digital Twins, Blockchain and secure collaboration environments to help them achieve this.
Defence and National Security need to ensure that information is kept safe. Sopra Steria runs a wider range of secure information management solutions at high levels of security assurance and evaluation.  We specialise in messaging services and all the adjacent technology and services which deliver this to those in fixed, deployed and tactical locations. Sopra Steria will deliver a secure collaboration working environment for defence, industry and overseas partners.  Addressing an increasing demand to collaborate securely whilst maintaining the ability to work flexibly and efficiently, the BLUEJAYSecureCollaboration service will develop a full suite of collaboration and digital engineering tools that are necessary to support the design and development of modern military platforms.
The Ministry of Defence’s (MoD) housing management system administering tri-service families’ accommodation, including the online housing application e-form, is provided by Sopra Steria. Our solution supports the allocation of over 55,000 houses to service families, 54,000 appointments, and the management of 21,000 move-in and move-outs per year as families transfer between geographic locations within the UK. We’ve also helped the MOD develop the Single Living Accommodation Management Information System, which improved the management of 130,000 bedspaces for all single serving personnel in the UK and overseas.  In addition, alongside Pinnacle, Sopra Steria have implemented a new digital platform and services to transform property management for MoD.
Shared Services Connected Ltd (SSCL) play a key role in the Transformation and Delivery of HR services to serving armed forces personnel, veterans and their families. These include delivering over 235,000 individual payments and 70 payrolls every month, disbursing and accounting for £9bn, including £3.8bn in pensions to 80 currencies and 100+ countries annually and providing one of the largest Oracle HR systems in Europe; vast quantities of personal & sensitive data. Our call centre teams are available 24/7 365 days a year to provide an exceptional user experience.
CIMPA, a Sopra Steria company, specialises in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) services, supporting transformation projects across the defence, aerospace, transport and energy sectors. With extensive experience covering end-to-end PLM, from creating a PLM strategy, developing roadmaps, deploying processes, methods and tools as well as delivering training and support. The ultimate goal is to give customers a competitive edge by improving overall efficiency during the whole product lifecycle.
