Sopra Steria named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces

London, | minute read

28th April 2022, London, UK - Sopra Steria, a European tech leader in consulting, digital services, and software development, is listed in the UK's Best Workplaces™ rankings 2022, published by Great Place to Work®

The top 20 ranking in the ‘Super Large’ category (organisations with 1000+ employees) follows a rigorous assessment process, including a survey of Sopra Steria employees across the UK and a cultural audit submission. The results highlight employee wellbeing, fair treatment, and social value among the organisation’s key strengths.

Putting employee wellbeing at the heart of decision making, Sopra Steria supports its people to be emotionally and physically healthy through a range of wellbeing tools and initiatives. As well as today’s Best Workplaces announcement, this commitment was also recognised by its listing in the first-ever UK’s Best Workplacesfor Wellbeing 2022 by Great Place to Work® UK earlier this year.

Sopra Steria is an ethically driven organisation and recognises that being inclusive and diverse is an important part of being a great place to work. One of the ways Sopra Steria supports diversity and equality is through its growing family of employee inclusion networks, which are open to all employees across the organisation, who either identify with or are allies of the network purpose. These networks operate together to provide a supportive and safe environment for everyone across the business to connect, learn and share about the cultures, perspectives, and issues of employees from different backgrounds.

The company has a strong social conscience, not just for its employees, but for its clients as well. Sopra Steria’s mission is to shape the world for the better, driving positive change in business and society. This is reflected by the work it delivers across the public and private sectors. From helping the Government provide essential public and health services that offer more convenience and choice, to improving financial services to deliver fairer, customer-centric solutions.

A priority for Sopra Steria is taking a lead in social value. Its Tech for Good programme aims to make business and technology a force for good by improving social mobility, driving inclusive economic growth and promoting diversity. Employees also have the opportunity to make a difference to the causes they care about with three paid volunteering days a year.

Sopra Steria has also been recognised for environmental sustainability with its recent ranking in the Financial Times’ Europe’s Climate Leaders 2022 list and as a global leader on corporate climate action by its inclusion for the fifth consecutive year in the CDP Climate Change ‘A’ list.

John Neilson, Chief Executive Officer at Sopra Steria UK, said:"We’re here to help shape a better world by using technology for good. A key part of achieving that mission is putting our people first. The Best Workplaces ranking is a recognition that we’re headed in the right direction. It also gives us valuable insight into how we can continue to improve our business for our employees, our partners and our customers.”

Faye Wall, Engagement Manager at Sopra Steria, said: "The health and wellbeing of our teams is fundamental to everything we do. We want all our team members to feel valued, supported and recognised. By participating in surveys like Great Place to Work, we can obtain honest feedback that can be used not only to celebrate our achievements, but to continually improve our practices.”
