London, 17 August, 2026 – Sopra Steria has signed the Government’s Cyber Resilience Pledge, a commitment to work alongside government and industry partners to strengthen cyber security across the UK economy.
As hostile cyber activity in the UK intensifies and becomes more frequent and complex, there is an increasing risk of significant financial and social harm to UK businesses and citizens. It is therefore more important than ever for businesses to strengthen cyber resilience in the UK, and this is a shared responsibility that requires close government and industry collaboration.
The three pledge actions, backed by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), form part of Sopra Steria’s ongoing approach to maintaining and enhancing cyber resilience. These are:
- Cyber Governance Code of Practice - a UK government framework which supports boards and directors in governing cyber security risks effectively.
- NCSC Early Warning Service – a notification service that tells registered organisations about potentially suspicious activity on their network.
- Cyber Essentials – a government-backed certification scheme, designed to help organisations protect against common online threats.
Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, Liz Lloyd, said:
"As one of the first to sign the Cyber Resilience Pledge, Sopra Steria is sending a clear message to their customers, investors and supply chains that cyber resilience is a core part of how they do business."
Sue-Ellen Wright, Managing Director of Aerospace, Defence and Security at Sopra Steria, who attended the launch event at 10 Downing Street, said:
"We’re proud to support the Government's Cyber Resilience Pledge and see it as another important way we can protect our customers. We look forward to working with industry partners to build a more resilient United Kingdom."
