Three of our Artificial Intelligence (AI) experts were recognised at the Digital Leaders AI 100 UK List 2025 event, held at the House of Lords on Friday 17th October. Among them, Susannah Matschke, Head of Data & AI Foundations at Sopra Steria Next, achieved 4th place overall and was ranked 2nd in the private sector category.
The AI 100 UK List is an annual recognition of individuals driving the responsible design, deployment, and governance of Artificial Intelligence across the UK. Susannah Matschke has exemplified leadership in this space. Specifically, she has led transformative AI initiatives across government, transport, policing and national infrastructure. Since 2022, she has built a 25-strong team delivering large-scale projects, including the development of a Common Data Model for Digital Twin adoption in construction. Susannah also founded and leads the Women in AI community, championing inclusion and empowering diverse voices in the AI conversation.
She said: “Being recognised as a top AI leader in the country is a real honour. Importantly it underpins not just the work we’re doing at Sopra Steria to deliver AI responsibly and at scale, but also the passion and purpose that drives our team. Susannah’s recognition is part of a wider story of Sopra Steria’s leadership in AI. Andy Whitehurst, UK Chief Technology Officer at Sopra Steria and Gary Craven, Head of AI Strategy & Transformation at Sopra Steria Next placed 44th and 79th respectively.
