Continuous improvement team named finalists in LCS and Business Culture awards

| minute read

Behind many of the process improvements, innovation initiatives and learning programmes delivered across SSCL is a specialist continuous improvement function dedicated to helping people work smarter and organisations performer better. The team works across operational excellence, process improvement, capability development and customer experience, supporting colleagues and clients to identify opportunities for improvement, embed best practice and deliver measurable results.

As part of the wider Sopra Steria Group, SSCL help organisations build a culture of continuous improvement and achieve lasting business outcomes. And we’re delighted to share that the team have been selected as finalists in two categories at this year’s LCS awards:

  • LCS Learning & Development Excellence Award.
  • Digital & AI-Enabled Improvement Award.

As well as a further two in the Business Culture awards:

  • Business Culture Team Award.
  • Best Learning Initiative for Business Culture (under 3k employees).

Alongside the recognition of advances made by SSCL in utilising AI, this is once again testament to the value – both financial and personal – of our learning and development service offering.

As Kenny Morris, Managing Director of SSCL Government says, “Continuous improvement is in our DNA”. In addition to the accredited training that we’ve delivered internally since 2018 – and since extended to colleagues in the wider Sopra Steria group – we’ve more recently offered our training services to our clients and to external companies.

Being named finalists is an honour, but what matters most is the volume of people who continue to engage with us on their learning and development journey. It's the impact this has had on our business efficiency and customer satisfaction that’s the measure of true excellence.

Feedback from a trainee: “I thought Ben was a fantastic trainer - I've both received and delivered a lot of training in my working life, and this was some of the best delivery of training I can recall. He struck a balance between snappy PowerPoint slides and activities to break things up and did a great job of maintaining a fun but educational environment in the training room. He was clearly passionate about the materials and excited to impart that knowledge to us.”

After learning about our offering at an industry networking event, a large UK-based utilities company were the latest business to take advantage of our learning and development know-how, resulting in almost 14,000 hours of efficiencies in their business processes via 25 completed Yellow-Belt projects. A cost equivalency of over £1 million has been reported against a typical full year of the process improvements delivered by these projects.
