Digital Transformation specialist scoops accolade for its partnership with the FCA
Sopra Steria, a European leader in digital transformation, today announced its success at the UK Cloud Awards, scooping Best Digital Transformation Project for Public Sector/Third Sector Project of the Year.
The award was in recognition for Sopra Steria’s partnership with the UK’s financial regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to help it respond to new European MiFID II guidelines. These new regulations demanded that trade and
investment firms rapidly submit market data to regulators, helping to prevent banking irregularities.
In order to comply, the FCA needed to update its current systems and install a new market data processing platform that was capable of enormous data analysis. Sopra Steria answered the call and worked with the FCA to help it embrace digital transformation
by proposing a cloud-based project that would suit its requirements.
Supported by a team of 200-strong developers, both in the UK and offshore as well as utilising state of the art technology within an Amazon Web Services environment, Sopra Steria shaped, developed and deployed its platform which processed six billion
transactions by the end of its first year.
The platform continues to drive the FCA and now processes over 30 million transactions a day, benefiting financially regulated businesses by making it simpler and faster to submit financial trades for audit and archive.
