| minute read

We're delighted to announce that Neil Salter, Director of National Security at Sopra Steria, has been elected by industry peers and fellow members to join techUK's National Security Committee.

The primary role of techUK’s National Security Committee is to drive and govern the work of the techUK National Security Programme. Its focus is to address the strategical-level security concerns that impact the UK technology sector, whilst also providing a forum for the Government’s (HMG) national security community to engage with technology suppliers on industry engagement opportunities.

The National Security committee will assess the capability of these technologies against various challenges facing the national security sector, developing thought leadership on key issues including improving procurement processes, stimulating innovation, and advocating for better diversity and inclusion across the sector whilst also closing the skills gap.

With 30 years' experience working in technology, IT delivery, Sales and P&L ownership, Neil currently leads the National Security business unit in Sopra Steria. Under his guidance and support, the business unit has achieved significant growth; all through the quality of the offerings and the strength of relationships with clients. His reputation for delivery and stakeholder engagement driven by 18 years of relationship building in the Authority communities will no doubt be an asset to the committee.

"My ambition is to encourage a continuous hunger for problem solving, innovation and partnership – the cornerstones of trusted relationships in the National Security environment. The sector needs an open and adaptable style with a willingness to collaborate to solve issues and challenges. I am looking forward to working with industry peers to create a willingness to participate in the National Security Committee, support the delivery of techUK's National Security Programme and enable collaboration with the Sopra Steria Group, industry partners and client organisations."

We’re looking forward to supporting Neil Salter in his new role on the techUK committee and strengthening our relationships with the wider techUK community.
