23rd November, 2017: Sopra Steria is delighted to be a founding signatory of the Tech Talent Charter - a commitment by organisations to a set of undertakings that aim to deliver greater diversity in the tech workforce of the UK, one that better reflects the make-up of the population. We are committed to gender equity in our own business, but we are not standing still and know that we must work hard to maintain and improve the balance - by attracting and retaining more female talent, especially in technical roles, we will future-proof our company’s success in the IT industry.

3 November 2017: Sopra Steria is among the top 5% of companies participating in CDP’s climate change programme and is featured on the 2017 Climate A List. This is in recognition of our actions and strategy to cut emissions, mitigate climate risks and support a transition to a low-carbon economy.

2 November 2017: Melba Foggo, Managing Director Financial Services was named IT Leader of the Year at Computing's Women in IT Excellence Awards 2017 - recognised for her role leading the team who won a landmark deal with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to deliver the UK’s largest digital market data processing platform. In addition, Melba was also a finalist in the category Innovator of the Year, for driving the thinking behind our Modular Digital Banking solution which offers a new way to build a bank.

24 October 2017: Sopra Steria Recruitment wins the Recruitment Company of the Year over £50m award at the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) Awards for Excellence 2017. This is the second time in succession that the organisation has collected this award. Sopra Steria Recruitment was also shortlisted as finalists in three further categories: Recruitment Company with the most Sustainable Growth, RPO/MSP of the Year and Disability Best Practice Award.

11 October 2017: Sopra Steria named a finalist in the Scotland Women in Tech Awards 2017 in the category "Employer of the Year". The Scotland Women in Technology Awards champion and celebrate women, and the companies and networks around them, who are achieving success in the technology industry in Scotland.

2 October 2017: Miro Gregorovic, Senior Information Technology Business Consultant, is named on the shortlist in the Scottish Financial Services Awards 2017 in the Rising Star category - recognised for the reputation gained within Sopra Steria as a leading voice on FinTech and emerging technologies.

1 June 2017: Sopra Steria’s ambitious science-based emissions reduction targets for its Group perimeter have been officially approved. This independent approval by the Science Based Targets initiative rewards and recognises the long-term strategy that Sopra Steria, a European leader in digital transformation, has adopted in taking a consistent approach to identifying its real GHG1 emissions and reducing them in both its operations and supply chain

27 April 2017: Sopra Steria achieves Community Partner Status with WS02. We have a strong track record for, and are committed to, delivering digital transformation using open standards and open technologies and this status is achieved through our commitment to staff training/certification and the experience gained from projects and proofs-of-concept across our European delivery teams.


4 April 2017: Sopra Steria is awarded “Regional Partner of the Year” in two key markets by SAS, the leader in analytics. The awards - for both the UK & Ireland and South West Europe regions - are issued to SAS partners who have demonstrated exemplary levels of service and expertise in helping customers implement SAS technology and solve their most complex business problems.

14 December, 2016: Sopra Steria is proud to join the board of Scotland Women in Technology - a joint initiative between Cisco, Dell, HPE, IBM, HSBC, JP Morgan, Skills Development Scotland and now Sopra Steria, that aims to attract, inspire, empower and retain women by developing a community and network to help grow women’s contribution in the IT industry.

1 December  2016: Sopra Steria is the first specialist in Consultancy Systems Integration to hire a recruit from CodeClan - a digital skills academy for web and software development supported by the Scottish Government and ScotlandIS, Scotland’s digital technologies trade body. It is also the first UK digital skills academy to be approved by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA). 


29 November 2016: Sopra Steria is one of the first AWS Partner Network (APN) members to achieve Amazon Web Services (AWS) Financial Services Competency status. This designation recognises Sopra Steria for delivery of effective solutions and providing deep expertise to help organisations manage critical issues pertaining to the industry, such as digital transformation, core systems implementation, migration, data management, navigating compliance requirements and risk management.


25 November 2016: Sopra Steria in Asia wins Best Collaboration Partner award at Land Transport Excellence Awards 2016. The Land Transport Authority of Singapore awards pay tribute to organisations that are commuter-centric, sustainable, and innovative.

14 November, 2016: In recognition of the work carried out by our teams of testers across the business who assure software application quality and mitigate risk for our clients, Sopra Steria projects and people have been shortlisted for three awards at the TESTA 2016 (The European Software Testing Awards).

27 October, 2016: Sopra Steria's Head of Service Management Community, Alison Cartlidge, is awarded a place on the Global Sourcing Association UK 'A' list - an international list of outsourcing thought leaders from across the industry - for her work developing the new ISO/IEC 30105 standard that provides a best practice process reference model and process assessment model across the BPO lifecycle that can be adopted industry-wide.



25 October 2016: Sopra Steria Recruitment, one of the leading UK staffing companies and managed recruitment service providers, receives a number of awards for excellence including Service Provider of the year to a major Utilities client for Going the Extra Mile, a winner of Recruiter Magazine’s Investing in Talent Awards and, most recently, as a winner of the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) Awards for Excellence 2016.


12 October, 2016: techUK announces Tom McCann, Director Government Sopra Steria, to chair the newly established Central Government Council, which brings together leaders from across the tech industry to deliver an ambitious programme of activity between techUK and central Government.

19 September 2016: Sopra Steria obtains CarbonNeutral® certification for 2015 for all of its premises (Office Space). This adds to the two existing CarbonNeutral® certifications for its Data Centres and business travel. This threefold acknowledgement, awarded by a demanding international body, demonstrates the Group's commitment in the domain of Corporate Responsibility. It allows especially to control the environmental impact of its activities and to ensure our solutions and services to our clients support a low carbon economy.


1 June 2016: Sopra Steria's Michaela Atkinson receives a commendation for exceptional work from Cleveland Police's Temporary Chief Constable Iain Spittal, presented following an incident in which Michaela handled a call within the Police Control Room from a very vulnerable and distressed woman.

2nd May, 2016: Sopra Steria moves up one place to take second position in the 12th annual edition of the Truffle 100, ranking the top 100 software publishers in France. Software development has been a key strategic focus to the Group for over 40 years. Sopra Steria creates and deploys application solutions to deliver advanced software, based on cutting-edge information technologies, know-how and expertise, helping our customers to develop their business.


24 February, 2016: Sopra Steria receives the "Cloud Innovation" award at Interconnect, IBM’s annual conference dedicated to the cloud and mobility. This award reinforces the strong existing partnership between Sopra Steria and IBM, while also widening its scope internationally. The award recognised our innovative use of IBM Cloud Services around the Bluemix platform and Watson technology.


28 January 2016: Sopra Steria announced a strategic alliance with SAS, a leader in analytics, to deliver an end-to-end managed service and outcome based data and analytics offering. Sopra Steria is also the first strategic partner to meet the SAS Gold-level status requirements in the UK, due to their significant investment in and commitment to maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of SAS solutions and expertise in the Financial Services industry.


2 December, 2015: Congratulations to Sopra Steria’s Anna Leyland, who has won this year’s Ashley Hanna Contributor of the Year Award, presented annually by the itSMF (IT Service Management Forum). This award recognises the person who, in the judges’ view, has made an outstanding contribution over the last year to the itSMF UK organisation as a volunteer.

 

22 October 2015: Sopra Steria Recruitment, leaders in recruitment transformation, wins highly commended award by the judges of the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) Awards for Excellence.

 

1 September, 2015: NHS Shared Business Services, Sopra Steria’s 50:50 joint venture with the UK Department of Health, is shortlisted for three categories in this year's prestigious Payroll World Awards: Best Payroll Support Team Award and the Payroll Team Award – Public Sector, with the provider's Ben Johnson also down for the Rising Star Award.

25 August, 2015: Sopra Steria is delighted to be named as a finalist in the National Outsourcing Association Awards (NOAAs) category “Telecommunications, Utilities and High-Tech Outsourcing Project of the Year” alongside distinguished organisations in our marketplace. This nomination is in recognition of the transformational offshoring project for our client Morrison Utility Services.


19 June, 2015: At an event held by Oldham College to honour their best performing students, apprentices, tutors and partners, Sopra Steria was delighted to win the 'Outstanding Employer Contribution to Curriculum' award. The award was in recognition of the work provided by Sopra Steria's Tim Difford and Anna Leyland who sit on the Employer Advisory Board and work with the Faculty of Digital & Creative.

 

5 June, 2015: Sopra Steria is a keen supporter of the Digital Leaders (DL) programme: an independent network for individuals and organisations across the UK and beyond who are committed to delivering sustainable and innovative digital transformation. We are delighted to be included in this year’s ‘Digital Leaders 100’ and named as a finalist in the category ‘Industry Digital Leader of the Year’ alongside distinguished organisations in our marketplace.


28 May 2015: Sopra Steria is committed to a proactive sustainability policy, and has obtained double CarbonNeutral® certification for all its data centres and business travel with effect from 2014.

   
 


22 April 2015: Sopra Steria's Head of Environmental Sustainability, Siva Niranjan, is nominated as one of the country’s most notable sustainable business leaders in the 2degrees Champions Awards. Siva was nominated by The CarbonNeutral Company for taking Sopra Steria from the beginning of its sustainability journey to a globally recognised leadership position in just six years.
