Supporting the launch of the JBoss User Group Scotland

The JBoss User Group (JBUG) Scotland community was officially launched on 7th March 2013.  With around 25 attendees on the day, the launch event brought together people from across Scotland to start an open community around Enterprise Java Middleware and JBoss software.

The launch was held in the Sopra offices in Edinburgh and will be the first in a series of events that we will host in order to help get the new community off the ground, giving members the chance to meet in an informal atmosphere, discuss a wide variety of topics and share their experience over some food and drinks.

Nabeel Saad, EMEA Middleware Solution Architect  (Red Hat) gave an introduction to the JBoss Enterprise Middleware portfolio and roadmap.

The programme also featured the following two Lightning Sessions (10 minutes max on specialist topics):

Lightning Session 1 -  JBoss is good for your health, Jerry Nimmo (Enterprise Architecture Branch Head, Directorate for Agriculture, Food and Rural Communities, Scottish Government)

Lightning Session 2 - Running BRMS Business Process Engine as a Standalone Service, Richard Hands (Technical Architect, Sopra)
