The challenge was for team Tuk’s Away to travel the 2,000 miles from Cochin to Jaisalmer in a rickshaw (or other very small vehicle) without assistance. They arrived in Cochin, India on 28 December 2014 and spent three days preparing for the journey, followed by a New Year’s party to see them in to 2015 and motivate them for the start of the challenge.
A tough couple of weeks and many adventures - including steep mountain climbs, cups of tea made by the local police, potholes, wandering cattle, searing heat and mechanical breakdowns - later, they completed the challenge successfully, raising more than £2,400 for three chosen charities - Cool Earth, LifeCare and Solidarity Sports.
Once recovered, Jack and Rich said, "A massive thank you to everyone who supported us on this adventure. Our team finished in the top 10 for fundraising (out of 93 teams) and we couldn't have achieved that without the generosity of our colleagues at Sopra Steria!"
The winning Spitfire design for team Tuk's Away tiny van was the result of a vote by Sopra Steria staff.
