Sopra Steria staff enjoy a month of sustainability activities, culminating with Earth Hour “lights out”

Nearly 500 employees across Sopra Steria and our JV company SSCL got involved in sustainability activities in the month running up to WWF's Earth Hour event between 20:30 and 21:30 on 28th March 2015.

A team of employees with artistic abilities created a league of Sopra Steria ‘Eco Superheroes’ that colleagues could use as avatars to post their sustainability commitments for 2015 on special #OurPower walls throughout many of our offices.

The month culminated in Earth Hour - the global annual event where hundreds of millions of people switch off their lights for one hour to show they care about our planet. Employees held candlelit dinners, played board games and spent time with family and friends with the lights off, and Sopra Steria turned out the lights and shut down all non-business critical equipment at our main sites.

Employees raised over £800 for WWF which included a contribution from the company’s matching funds programme.
