Sopra Steria speaks at All-Party Parliamentary Group to support economic growth through women entrepreneurs

12 September, 2016: Sopra Steria is invited to speak at an All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) meeting that explores what more the Government can do to support economic growth through
women entrepreneurs, and how it can improve its understanding of the challenges women business owners face.

As an IT services provider, Sopra Steria understands the critical role that diversity and inclusion play in driving our sector forward. Sopra Steria’s Jen Rodvold and Graham Roberts will be discussing our active role in supporting these issues within our organisation and supply chain, and how we encourage girls into STEM careers and women into senior positions at Sopra Steria.

Craig Tracey MP and chair of the APPG for Women and Enterprise comments: “We are delighted to welcome Sopra Steria to Parliament to share their experience in the vital area of Women and Enterprise.
Our members are excited to hear Sopra Steria’s presentation and engage with their representatives.
Our All-Party Parliamentary Group aims to promote equality for women in executive and ownership positions in the world of enterprise and the evidence session is an important meeting in our calendar.”

Jen Rodvold, Head of Sustainability and Social Value Solutions, at Sopra Steria says: “Sopra Steria is proud to be taking part in the hearing for the APPG for Women and Enterprise.  Championing diversity and gender equality in society and in business is important for future business success and economic growth.  That’s why we’ve made these a fundamental part of our sustainable business programme, as well as support for initiatives that promote women in business and technology.  We support the work of this APPG to encourage more women to take leadership roles in business, and more corporates to improve the diversity of their organisations and supply chains.”

This APPG meeting at the Palace of Westminster, will explore what more the Government can do to support economic growth through women entrepreneurs and women in senior leadership roles within business, and how it can improve its understanding of the challenges women business owners and women in the workforce face.

Virgin Money will also share their views and perspectives on these issues at this meeting.
