London, 2 November 2017: Sopra Steria is delighted to announce that Melba Foggo, Managing Director Financial Services was named IT Leader of the Year at Computing's Women in IT Excellence Awards 2017 at a gala dinner held at The Hilton London Bankside on 1 November.
As IT Leader of the Year, Melba is recognised for her role leading the team who won a landmark deal with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to deliver the UK’s largest digital market data processing platform.
Following her win, Melba commented, "I am delighted and slightly overwhelmed to have won this amazing award. To be acknowledged as a leader in today’s incredibly competitive IT industry is a huge honour and recognition of the innovative way we work at Sopra Steria. It was empowering to attend the Women in IT Excellence dinner and be in the presence of so many truly impressive women.

In addition to IT Leader of the Year, Melba was also a finalist in the category Innovator of the Year, recognised for driving the thinking behind our Modular Digital Banking solution which addresses the revolution taking place in the banking world and offers a new way to build a bank for new entrants, established and challenger banks.
