Presenting on real world open source at Socitm Northern Ireland event

Sopra Steria is presenting a plenary session at Socitm Northern Ireland's "Open Source - Open for Business" Event that will draw on our real-world experience of delivering major open source solutions across Europe.

Sopra Steria's Gavin Brown (Digital Architect) and John Hewitt (GIS consultant) will introduce open source and explore its many potential key benefits: cost-effectiveness, greater potential for agility, innovation, flexibility and choice. The session will also dispel some common myths about open source including concerns around security, stability and support, as well as whether open source solutions are appropriate for major systems.

In addition, Gavin and John will also touch on some of the real life practicalities around delivering open source solutions with major Sopra Steria clients as well as the lessons learned. The event will be held on 28th March at the Park Avenue Hotel in Belfast.
