Sopra is committed to contributing to its local communities and believes that the quality of our leaders today and the development of our leaders of tomorrow is essential to sustaining our competitive advantage. Teamwork, trust and performance are of key importance to the company.
Sopra is proud to work with Saracens Sport Foundation and Renfrewshire Council to sponsor the employment of five rugby apprentices (two with Saracens Sport Foundation charity and three with Renfrewshire Council). The apprentices help to create a stronger link between the schools' Rugby Development Programme and local clubs, and aim to inspire many young people to become involved in rugby, which can help develop essential life skills such as respect, teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship, qualities that can then transfer to other areas of life.
To continue supporting the development of the five Apprentices, Sopra recently held a workshop with the five young individuals, with the aim of equipping them with some insights into leadership skills, tools and techniques to help them to get on the right track with their coaching experiences and as a basis for their career development. During the two day agenda, topics included Building Trust, Influencing Skills and Strategies and Effective Communication. Brian Ashton, the former Head Coach of the England and Ireland national rugby union teams, also attended as a guest speaker.
