Digital Leaders Northern Ireland kicks off in 2015 with the topic Open Data

Friday 27 March 2015

Following the successful launch of Digital Leaders Northern Ireland (DLNI) in November 2014, we are excited to announce the first salon of 2015. Taking place
in Belfast, the second salon in the Digital Leaders programme will look at "Open Data: what does it really mean for us?"

Open Data is one of those subjects that everyone knows they need to know about but not everyone is clear why. In recent years there has been a significant global movement to make data openly available for full use and republishing, without restrictions from copyright, patents or other mechanisms of control. Open Data can be utilised by everyone in innovative and unexpected ways to deliver significant social and economic benefits. Following the "NI Open Data Strategy" to be published in March, we will discuss the challenges Open Data can create, the benefits, why implementing the open data strategy for Northern Ireland is important and what it could mean for us all.

Sopra Steria is proud to support Digital Leaders Northern Ireland and we continue to work closely with these regional DL Programmes, helping to organise and host their bi-monthly digital salons.

A key aim of the Digital Leaders (DL) programme is to expand the network and increase opportunities for digital leaders to meet locally.
