Sopra Steria key sponsors at Open Source Awards 2015

Sopra Steria continues to support the open source community as one of the main sponsors at this year's Open Source Awards in Edinburgh on 25th February 2015. These awards serve as a platform to showcase the creative and disruptive innovation that open source companies and individuals generate

There will be three awards in the following categories:

  • Individual - recognises UK based Open Source people. When you dig into open source in the UK there is talent in abundance, much of it developed over many years. This award seeks to recognise the contributions of these people and their projects.
  • Company - for outstanding contributions by a UK organisation to one or more free and open source project(s).
  • Student - is a £1,000 cash prize for the student(s) that demonstrate the most innovative use of open source technologies. It's a very broad criteria. It embraces social, mobile, business, infrastructure … the entire ecosystem of computing.

Technical Session:

We will be running a technical session discussing Sopra Steria’s open source solution being developed to support Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) Reform payments in England for Defra (Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs).

Around around 200 senior advocates, practitioners & influencers from across the globe are expected to attend the event, which will feature afternoon technical sessions and then be followed by the awards ceremony in the evening.
