The British Police Symphony Orchestra returns to Birmingham’s Symphony Hall once more this December for a night of music, fun and fireworks, and Sopra Steria is pleased to sponsor the event once again.
Celebrating its 25th Anniversary of music making, the orchestra of UK police force members hopes to raise the roof with this year’s Proms Night Spectacular starting at 19.30 on Saturday 6 December 2014.
The thunderous Fanfare for the Common Man opens the concert, followed by Holst’s The Planets, a huge musical work for all to enjoy. Other works include John Williams ever popular themes to E.T. (The Extra Terrestrial) and Star Wars. The evening ends with a firework display and Proms sing along to Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and Land of Hope & Glory.
The orchestra draws its members from across the police forces of the UK. Players are all either serving or retired police officers, police staff or other members of the extended police family.
