Sopra Steria will formally launch its new government strategy at an event in Edinburgh next Tuesday, 19th June. To mark the launch, a report from the National Institute of Economic and Social Research will be released, placing a spotlight on the particular needs of the public sector in Scotland.
The paper follows a nationwide report, produced by NIESR that identified a £300m spending gap across the UK, and argues that the government will need to rethink its delivery of public services if it is to tackle the public spending black hole.
Sopra Steria’s new look government business is designed to deliver against this need, using digital techniques to transform the quality and efficiency of public services. Its recent appointment to deliver a new, innovative visa application service for UKVI demonstrates its commitment to building a new model of public service delivery for all. And in Scotland, this vision is being brought to life by seconding one of Sopra Steria’s digital leaders, Scottish Regional Director Alison McLaughlin, to the Scottish Government to help realise its digital transformation ambitions.
Stepping up to take the reins from Alison will be Mags Moore, previously Head of Business Development in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Mags comes to the role with a wealth of experience in the Scottish market, and a digital influencer in her own right, having been a key supporter of a number of initiatives in Scotland such as Digital Leaders and SOCITM Top Talent.
