Sopra Steria-nominated charity wins The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service

Edinburgh, 2 June 2015: We are delighted that LifeCare Edinburgh Limited has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award a voluntary group can receive in the UK.

Sopra Steria nominated LifeCare for this award in recognition of the critical social role that the charity plays in the local community and for the excellent work of their volunteers.

LifeCare Edinburgh was one of Sopra Steria’s 2014 chosen charities, providing services to support the wellbeing and independence of older people. The charity relies heavily on the involvement of regular volunteers, who come from all walks of life, to support older people to remain independent and help decrease social isolation, thereby increasing their well-being and health.

We send our warmest congratulations to LifeCare and hope they enjoy attending a garden party at Buckingham Palace where they will meet the Queen and other winners of this year’s award.
