Scope/ Applicability

This policy applies to all of Sopra Steria UK.

Responsibility and Organisation

This Policy inherits the principles of responsibility and organisation of its parent policy, the Environmental  Policy and applies them to activities associated with the management and use of energy.

Principles

Sopra Steria aims to minimise its consumption of energy of all sorts and the effect of that consumption on the environment, particularly from associated emissions of greenhouse gases.

It does this by:

  • Procuring supplies of energy from renewable sources whenever and wherever possible
  • Measuring and monitoring its consumption of energy in the facilities that it occupies, and reporting it in appropriate channels
  • Considering energy efficiency in its choice of devices and energy-consuming fittings
  • Operating its facilities and the devices in them in an energy-efficient manner
  • Avoiding the waste of energy by turning devices off when they are not being used
  • Engaging employees in the need to use energy efficiently and to avoid wasting it
  • Investing in projects to improve energy efficiency across the Sopra Steria portfolio
