Technologies are part of daily life for the significant majority of people and businesses. As individuals we pay for shopping and do our banking online; communicate and share with family, friends and business associates using video or social networks; and book cinema tickets from our mobile devices while sitting in cafes. Businesses market and deliver their products or services, produce digital content, generate data and create economic activity whereas the Public and Third sectors have begun to use digital platforms to deliver services and to engage with citizens, but there is much to be done.
The Digital Place strategy aims to deliver significant benefits through delivering a clear, single, ambitious and transformational digital programme across the region for the next three years. It sets out how we will use connectivity, data, and innovation to work collaboratively with partners, address inequality, transform lives, raise employability, increase the efficiency of service providers, attract investment and drive innovation.
