Sopra Steria congratulates Gloucestershire County Council on being shortlisted in 2016 Social Value Awards

23 February, 2016: The Social Value Awards aim to recognise and celebrate good practice in commissioning and providing social value. In the 2016 awards Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) was shortlisted for Driving Value for Money. Sopra Steria is proud to be recognised for the work we have been doing with GCC, particularly given that it was achieved in competition against 70 other entrants.

Here is more about their entry and how Sopra Steria has been working with the council:

Gloucestershire County Council embedded social value throughout the tender process when seeking a new IT services provider. It treated social value as a significant business requirement rather than a ‘nice to have’. As a result, the council now has a service focused on driving greater value for money, social value and delivery of its strategic plan. In just one year, Sopra Steria has helped the council:

  • achieve greater environmental sustainability
  • run a Dragons’ Den-style entrepreneurship contest for local students
  • provide apprenticeships and work placements
  • start rolling out a local digital inclusion project
